Der Mensch macht seit jeher Musik. Seit wir das Bewusstsein erlangt haben, spielen wir Instrumente. Das Leben wäre schwer oder sogar unerträglich ohne Melodien und Harmonie. Die Flöte ist ein einzigartiges Instrument. Man kann auf der ältesten erhaltenen Flöte (ungefähr 43.000 Jahre alt) immer noch spielen. Die Flöte ist das Lieblingsinstrument unzähliger Pharaonen, berühmter Herrscher, historischer und mythischer Gestalten – es ist kein Zufall, dass die Flöte die Metapher für Wunder geworden ist. Ihr Klang fasziniert. Die Luft erwacht zum Leben.
... the favorite instrument
Man has been making music ever since the beginning of time. As soon as we gained consciousness we have been inseparable from our instruments. Life would be far more difficult, if not intolerable in the absence of melodies and harmonies. The flute is perhaps the most exceptional instrument of them all. The oldest flute – which is at least 43,000 years old – can convey magical tunes, even today. This instrument, favored by countless pharaohs, famed rulers, magicians, historic and mythical characters, has been rightfully chosen as a metaphor for miracles. Its sound is charming. Air comes to life.
nie zu spät
Viele denken, dass man am besten bereits als Kind anfangen sollte, ein Instrument zu spielen. Das darf man aber nicht verallgemeinern, lernen wir doch als Erwachsene ständig Neues – z.B. Auto fahren oder die Computertastatur zu bedienen. Wieso sollte Flöte spielen eine Ausnahme sein? Musik ist wie eine Sprache. Im Kindesalter lernen wir vielleicht mit anderen „Mitteln” als Teilnehmer eines Sprachkurses, doch das Ergebnis ist das Gleiche: Lernen ist nicht altersabhängig.

never too late
Many believe that it is only worth learning how to play an instrument at a young age. Such an approach is quite doubtful. We learn how to operate several complicated instruments as adults, like cars and computers — why would the flute have to be an exception? In terms of learning, music can be likened to a spoken language. As children we use different “methods” for learning our language from our parents, than methods used to teach adults attending foreign language courses, the fact remains that learning can occur any time.
